Coordinates the planning, development and implementation of prevention strategies, activities and tools in collaboration with management, staff and partners to ensure that visitors’ actions respect the natural and cultural values of heritage places and the experiences of other visitors.
The incumbent to this position will work closely with visitor safety and law enforcement staff to plan and implement strategies to ensure that visitor behaviours and activities are safe, consistent with applicable policies and legislation, and support Parks Canada’s mandate to protect and present National Parks, Marine Conservation Areas, and Historic Sites. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills, be a self-starter who can lead work with partners and within an inter-disciplinary home team.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization relevant to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience. The candidate must clearly demonstrate the relevance of their studies.
• Experience developing, coordinating, OR implementing plans OR strategies in an operational setting;
• Experience leading and participating in multidisciplinary groups and working with partners;
• Experience in issue analysis and resolution; and
• Experience in front-line service delivery.

• Experience in facilitating meetings or delivering training
• Experience developing and implementing prevention strategies in areas such as visitor experience, resource conservation or public safety;

The essential qualifications that are listed in the statement of merit criteria are mandatory. A pass mark will be established for each.
