Duties

– Generate social media content and monitor social media activity, promote engagement of our online audiences.
– Produce video and photos to promote Parks Canada places and messages.
– Participate in outreach events on behalf of Parks Canada.
– Provide graphic design, video editing and photo support for the external relations team.

Parks Canada is seeking self-motivated, outgoing and creative individuals to join their team. The role is to inform, educate and inspire visitors about the local cultural and natural history and to promote Parks Canada.

Successful applicants will be confident, have strong communication skills, work independently and be able to follow detailed instructions.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to hire students for summer 2019. We will only contact students who possess the education, experience and abilities required for this opportunity.

– Knowledge of Parks Canada’s vision and mandate

ABILITIES
• Ability to write and produce engaging social media content for Facebook and Twitter.
• Strong communication and public relations skills as they relate to engaging with the public.
• Knowledge of photo editing, video editing or graphic design.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a team.

PERSONAL SUITABILITY

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required; Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain and weather conditions by various means of transportation;
Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and required protective clothing.
