This time 4 years ago we were midway through the SON Water Walk. We covered over 700 km travelling around the perimeter of our traditional territory.

Watch the Water Walk documentary below "Walking in the Footsteps of Our Ancestors."

*** A documentary produced by Sage & Sea Co. about the 2017 Saugeen Ojibway Nation (SON) Water Walk. The walk was intended to bring awareness to the issues facing the land, water and communities of SON. It demonstrated SON’s commitment to protecting the Territory as it covered over 700 km in the course of 12 days. The walkers from Saugeen and Neyaashiinigmiing passed through many culturally significant sites and brought awareness to the issues facing the water. The walk began on Monday May 22, 2017 at Noojimowaaning, the Place of Healing, and traveled the perimeter of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation (SON) Territory. SON’s Traditional Territory extends east from Lake Huron to the Nottawasaga River and south from the tip of the Bruce Peninsula to the Maitland River system. It concluded on Friday June 2, 2017. ***
