"The Saugeen Ojibway Nation and Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre are working together on a framework to simplify  transferring ownership and repatriating artifacts to First Nations.

“It’s 2023. It’s well beyond the time that museums should be doing this. From the museum’s perspective, I can speak to the perspective of the community museum, you can make things easy or you can make them difficult. There is no need to make things overly onerous in regard to this type of process,” said Cathy McGirr, the Bruce County Museum’s director and curator.
